Dormo Peak (6855m) is located in Taplejung district in the eastern region of Nepal, near the world’s third highest mountain, Mt. Kanchendzonga range. The peak straddles the border between Tibet, Sikkim and Nepal. Although it is 6855m tall, it has not be categorized as an expedition peak, not a trekking peak.
The permit for climbing the Dormo peak is administered by the Nepalese government, will arranged for you by Pink Mountain Treks and Expedition. Expedition groups are required to take a liaison officer along as part of the regulations.
The journey to Dormo peak is a long one, requiring bus rides from Kathmandu to Biratnagar and then to Basantpur from where the trek begins. The treks is mostly through sparsely settlements of villages that are home to Rai and Limbu people or Kirat people. Kirat people are renowned for their unique culture and cuisine. Much of the trek route passes through Kanchendzonga National Reserve replete with alpine shrubs, meadows, grassland and forests that are home to such endangered species as Red Panda, Black Bear, wolves and mountain goats.
The base camp is set up at Pang Pema from where it is just a few hours climb to the summit. The mountain itself is a mass of snow, ice and rock. Climbing the mountain will require skillful use of ropes, ice axe and walking through glaciers.
The Peak offers a magnificent panorama of eastern Himalayan ranges including khumbakarna(7711m), Kanchunjunga(8586m), Yalung kag(8055m) and Kirat Chuli(7362m)

Day 2Kathmandu (1350m) sightseeing tour.After breakfast, proceed to sightseeing tour to heritage sites of Kathmandu. Visit to Boudhanath stupa, Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunath Stupa and Kathmandu durbar square tour.
Boudhanath stupa is one of the biggest Buddhist shrines in the world where we observe Buddhist monks in prayer in the monasteries. Pashipatinath temple is the most famous Hindu temple in Asia, located in the banks of Bagmati river where men are meditating, pilgrims are bathing and occasionally funeral pyres means dead body are burning/cremating on the ghats. Then come back to hotel and introduction meeting with your guide in the afternoon. You can ask any questions regard the trekking and climbing with your guide on this group meeting and the final preparations for the trip.
